Sania Mania !!!!!!
Normally India always or atleast for a short period of time is struck by a fever called "Sachinosis" but for the last 2 months it seems India is suffering from "Sania Mania". what happend to india? Is it the Global Warming or Tsunami disaster? Oh No it is just an 18 year old Tennis superstar Mushrooming. This augurs well for the Indian Sporting Scenario as Sania's show has taken the limelight of The Master atleast for sometime.
We have so many Sportsmen not many Sportswoman to cheer, here's someone who has put her hand up and smashed her way up the ladder. Now we have someone to cheer,Sania
is an inspiration to all the Youngsters let alone women so let's start the celebrations.
The growth of this child genius has been in front of the Indian eyes for about 4 years now,but the Superstardom has been bestowed upon this Young Head is just 2 months old, Still a long way to go! but these are just Some of the stations that she is going to come across in her wonderful journey that had started at her hometown Hyderabad.
The "Charminar" Express has started its journey, only this time the train will be crossing Countries. This is Probably the first time that Some other sportsperson has been in the Headlines Other Than The Indian Emperor Sachin Tendulkar. Now Sachin has some of the Most Trusted brains in the sporting Kingdom to give him company.
The Princess - Sania Mirza
The Head Minister - Rahul Dravid
The Knights - The Sehwags,The Kumbles,The Leanders,The Dhanraj Pillays,The Gopichands,The Narains the list goes on and endless,,,,,,
What Sania has done to India is Not only Putting India on the Tennis map but made the world to sit up and take notice of the Indians. Here were the Indians Who were Supposed to be Very Polite,Courteous,Disciplined Etc,Etc,Etc.. now we can add one more Adjective to the list that we are Tough World Beaters. We have proved to the world that we Indians Are Brainy, Sania Has proved that we are brawny as well.
One Other Thing That makes my hair on my neck stand up is that Sania is all of 18 and the maturity she has shown is like a seasoned veteran.Sania Has 77 reasons to smile these days, let her smile and win more foreign Hearts on top of the titles.
Let's all stand up and applaud the feat that she has achieved.
GO Sania Go.

Amazing read!! I would like to echo your thoughts about this young, vibrant Indian princess (as you aptly put it) who did create a much awaited tsunami in Indian tennis history.
India has produced some great female sporting legends like PT. Usha (Incidentally, she was also nicknamed as express, in her case ‘payyoli express’ from kerala) and Karnam Malleshwari. But never before in Indian sporting scene did a young woman reach such great heights. I do agree that she is now the ‘hot marketing face’ endorsing soaps to sport drinks. But that alone can’t qualify her as a true representative of ‘young Indian women’. So, what makes her different? The reason why she stands out from the crowd is for the fact that she made a genuine gesture in gracefully accepting the offer of being the ambassador for ‘save the girl child campaign’ which raises voice against killing young female children in rural India.
Her charismatic personality, refined grace and style would raise goose bumps to any young Indian. Boy, you are no exception! I cant resist to share a trivia about her as she shares her last name with another Indian beauty diya mirza( I wonder, if I should blog about her as well). It’s very hard to be a ‘non-sania-maniac’, especially for all unmarried south Indian males who worship her, adore her and dream about her!
She sure is set to go places! As I’m a bit lazy (as always), I can’t stand up and cheer, but I would love to sit back and silently enjoy her pay-back to Serena! Watch out Lindsay / Williams’ sisters! We now have a strong return serve waiting to nail you down!
Kudos to you on picking this interesting topic to kick off your blogging journey! Pass on this site for more comments not only to our friends but also to noble souls who speak our language and share our similar thoughts! (Triplicane HSSS gang, are you guys listening?)
Quick Note on blogging for novices: Personal websites are obsolete, Blogs (or web logs) is a ‘shared online diary’ of an individual who wants to ‘think out loud’ (or should I say ‘ink out loud’) and share stuff with their friends / family members.
Sania - keep winning, Sathya - keep Blogging!

This one is worth reading. Its time for all of us to applaud the feat that this young lady has acheived.
This sure was a Tsunami that has hit India but this time has not created devastation but joy to the people of this country.
These are times which are sure to be echoed to the generation to follow and hopefully sania is the base for many more.
This is just the begining and lets hope sania does some serious Butt kicking in the tournaments to come.
The two toughest thing for an average indian would be to not idolise Sachin tendulkar and pass his/her Mathematics Exam. But sania has been able to atleast turn our attention on her for some period ignoring sachin.
The princess has everything going her way , Success, Money, glamour attention and Fan following. And rightly so coz we are sick and tired of seeing only crickters every nook n corner. Let her have the limelight.
sathya keep posting some more wonderful read. hats off !!!!
